Presenter notes and controls stay in a separate window on Mac, so you can run slides inside a video conferencing app without the audience seeing your notes or watching you switch windows

Keynote for iCloud works in a browser on both Mac and Windows, letting collaborators without Apple hardware create, edit, and present shared decks — no native install needed on the Windows side

There is no native Windows desktop app — Windows users are limited to the iCloud web interface, which may lack the responsiveness and full feature set of the desktop versions

Apple's Keynote support page doesn't publish pricing, plan limits, or trial terms, so you have to check Apple's store and subscription terms directly before you can budget for it

Imports decks from PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, PDF, Word, and ChatGPT drafts while preserving your original slide designs, so you can add engagement features without rebuilding anything

Runs live polls, quizzes, and Q&A inside the same flow as your slides, with attendees joining via a single QR code from their phones — no app download or login for in-room, remote, or hybrid audiences

Paid plan names, prices, and seat limits are not displayed on the homepage, so you have to dig into the pricing page to learn what upgrades actually cost before you can budget

Audience participation is phone-dependent: every attendee must scan a QR code and join from their own device, which rules out device-free rooms and excludes people without smartphones

Smart Slides handle design, layout, and spacing automatically, removing the most tedious part of deck-building

Slides adapt in real time as you add or edit content, so revisions never require manual re-formatting

Automated layouts mean less fine-grained design control than fully manual tools like PowerPoint or Keynote, which can frustrate designers who want pixel-level customization

The automated design engine constrains how far you can push a custom visual style, so highly bespoke branding may be harder to achieve

Can accelerate Blueprint generation and debugging for experienced users.

Some report it saves significant time on complex tasks and offers accurate guidance.

Credit system is widely criticized as expensive, unfair, and sometimes unpredictable.

AI can give inaccurate or hallucinated information, leading to broken projects.

Copilot edits slides from plain-language instructions — rewriting, reorganizing, and adding slides — while you review and approve each change before it sticks, so AI never overwrites work you want to keep.

Speaker Coach gives instant AI feedback on your pace, vocabulary, and filler words during rehearsal, and Cameo records video explainers that play alongside your slides when you can't present live.

Copilot is locked behind paid Microsoft 365 plans, works only for the subscription owner (not Family members or teammates on a shared plan), and is subject to usage limits.

Real-time collaboration depends on OneDrive — decks must be saved to and shared from Microsoft's cloud for live co-editing to work.

Runs entirely in the browser, so there is nothing to install, update, or license for individual use

Multiple people can edit the same deck at the same time, eliminating version conflicts from shared files

Design and animation control is lighter than in mature desktop tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, which can frustrate users who need fine-grained visual polish

Premium capabilities such as domain templates require a paid Google Workspace plan, so free users miss organization-level features

Consolidates presentations, infographics, reports, and social graphics into one workspace, eliminating the need to switch between separate niche tools

Brand Kit storage for logos, fonts, and color palettes keeps every output on-brand without manual style checks

The free plan restricts templates and export options, so serious production use generally requires a paid subscription

Advanced interactivity and animation controls take time to master compared to basic template editors
