Plutio was created by a young entrepreneur named Leo Bassam who started working as a freelancer when he was only 15 years old. His first client was Dubai International Airport.
However fun and satisfying freelancing can be, Leo had to constantly jump between apps, duplicate data between apps, pay multiple subscriptions, and then use even more apps to “connect” them all together.
Plutio was born out of frustration trying to run a freelance business using multiple apps.
So he decided to build Plutio when he realized that fellow freelancers all over the world faced similar hurdles.
To be completely transparent, the Ciroapp managers also use Plutio because it is for us the software that corresponds perfectly to our needs. This allows us to make a perfect review.
Read further to learn more about Plutio, in our review we will detail its features, pros and cons with our rating, and a conclusion about why you should use it.

Features
Plutio features: What can you do with it?
Plutio has a lot of features and more features are added over time. It is therefore possible that we missed some or that new ones were added.
Projects & Tasks
It is possible to create different projects and tasks to organize your work. Usually you will create a project and then add tasks inside, you can benefit from already made templates to save time. At the project level, you can track your progress with the progress indicator, add custom fields, define an hourly rate, organize your projects with different tags…
You can manage and view your tasks in different ways. It is possible to display them as a list, a kanban or a calendar. You can set up a reminder system, repeat a task and delegate the task to someone.
Time Tracking
The time tracking feature is really useful and sometimes missing in some other project management software.
With Plutio, it is possible to determine an hourly rate and apply it to the project. If you have a customer who pays you by the hour, you can create one or more tasks, start the timer and when it’s done, you stop the timer and send the invoice to your customer.
Proposals
If you work for clients, managing the invoicing and quotation part can be tedious, difficult and expensive.
In addition, they are usually quoted in PDF format, not very well arranged and generally ugly. The customer also has to print it out to sign it, then scan it and return it.
This is time-consuming and not very environmentally friendly. In addition, you will have to wait for the customer’s bank transfer, which can take several days.
Thanks to Plutio, you can send the quote with a link, so the quote is available on smartphones and computers. The customer can then choose different options and services and sign the quote. Then, if you have set up PayPal or Stripe, the customer can pay directly.
If you wish, after the customer’s payment, a project and the invoice can be created automatically. In the near future, there will be the possibility to offer subscriptions, this can be useful if you want to invoice a recurring service to your customer.
You will also be able to push automation to the maximum by using Zapier to connect Plutio with other software.
Nota: When someone open the quote, you will receive a notification.
Invoices
If your invoices are not created automatically, you can create them manually. You can also define recurring invoices.
Contracts
Contracts are very important to protect you and your client as well. You may therefore need to draw up a contract for your future clients. These can be added to quotes and invoices and can be signed electronically! In addition, you can benefit from pre-designed templates
Client Management
In the “people” section, you can find your customers and your team. On each of them, you can find the history of conversations, projects, tasks and more.
Inbox
When interacting with your customers, it can quickly become complicated if you are chatting via whatsApp, email, and several other platforms at the same time. It’s best to keep a history of conversations and centralize everything in one place. This also applies to the exchange of attachments and various links.
Chat Widget
This feature is great and is not present in most competitors. You can add a live chat where you want: On your website, on a quote, an invoice… At any time the customer can chat with you!
Knowledgebase (wiki)
What a nightmare it is to have to repeat the same thing several times to your client because he has forgotten what you told him. What if for most clients you tell and teach them the same things? This knowledgebase system will help you save time and better organize your work and that of your client.
What a joy to have such creative freedom! Thanks to Plutio’s Page Builder, you can organize your Wiki the way you want! Add images, text, bulleted lists, drawings, videos…
Forms & Surveys
It can be interesting to know the opinion of your customers by creating a survey or to collect images or information for the elaboration of a project, the possibilities are endless!
Look at all available fields! You can ask customers to choose between several images, choose options, log in with the slider function, add a file and sign electronically to prove their identity.
Integrations
Here are the various possible integrations with Plutio. As you can see, there is Zapier, so you can connect hundreds of applications and software with Plutio. Stripe and PayPal are currently the only integrated payment gateways.
We haven’t tried to integrate or automate Plutio yet because we don’t need it yet.
Branding / White label
Make Plutio disappear!
What if someone told you that you could get this software as a white-label? Wouldn’t that be great?
You can change the name, change the colors and the logo. It is also possible to put your own domain name and email address!
Nevertheless, as you can see on the images above, this feature is not free. You will have to pay $9/mo extra. However it is not very expensive if it makes you look more professional and improves your reputation.
Design Editor
There is a library of different templates mostly created by Plutio clients. You can use them for free or you can create templates yourself to automatically reuse them for projects, quotes or other.
Add and arrange shapes, icons, text and images however way you want in a feature-rich canvas to create any design element or layout.
With the blocks based drag and drop editor, your experience is intuitive and consistent whether you are creating a proposal, an invoice or a contract.
Easily change background colors, adjust padding or add shadows without a single line of code. You are in full control of how everything looks and feel.
Your page will be fully responsive and will display well on a smartphone.
Other Features
Unlike many of its competitors, Plutio is multilingual! Each client can also define the language of its interface. Indeed, Plutio is available in 25 languages, including Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, French and Japanese.
As you can see on our screenshots, there is the “dark mode”. This allows you to rest your eyes.
Daily emails + activities feed.
