Best Accountability software

Accountability goes beyond automated reports: allies you choose receive real-time notifications through the Activity Feed, so a trusted person can respond in weak moments rather than at a weekly check-in

Two genuinely free on-ramps — the 21-day Strive program for men and Arise program for women — let you test the approach before paying anything

Screen Accountability has real device gaps: it isn't available on Chromebooks, Kindle Fires, or Smart TVs, and on iOS it only captures Safari activity, so explicit content in other iOS apps isn't covered by screenshots

The model requires inviting a real accountability partner who will see your activity reports — a dealbreaker if you want privacy or aren't ready to disclose your struggle to someone

One subscription covers unlimited devices across Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and Kindle, eliminating coverage gaps on mixed-device setups.

It is the only app in its category with dual ISO 27001 (security) and ISO 27701 (privacy) certification, backed by 256-bit AES encryption and annual third-party security audits.

Nothing is blocked by default; filtering is optional and only available on Android and iOS, so desktop users receive reports alone with no active blocking.

The entire model depends on the quality and consistency of the chosen accountability partner; a disengaged or unreliable partner significantly weakens the tool's effectiveness.

Genuinely broad platform coverage: a single account monitors Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Chromebook, and Linux, so mixed-device households don't need separate tools per OS.

Both plans include unlimited accountability partners, and you can assign specific partners to specific devices so each person only receives alerts relevant to them.

There is no published money-back guarantee or refund policy on the pricing page, so beyond the 10-day trial you're relying on month-to-month cancellation rather than a refund window.

The model depends on partners seeing your activity — reports and alerts go to the people you invite — which makes it a poor fit for anyone who wants private, self-only tracking.
