KWFinder, the Keyword Research Tool

KWFinder Features

Since 2014, KWFinder became one of the most popular tools on the market known mostly for its ease of use, user-friendly interface and accuracy of the keyword difficulty.

KWFinder is a keyword research tool in which you can find hundreds of keywords with low SEO difficulty.

Search by Keyword

Mangools search

If you want to write an article, there is bound to be one main keyword that will come to mind. In our case, this article is mainly about Mangools, so we wrote the keyword “Mangools”.

As Ciroapp is a multilingual website, we will put the localization “Anywhere” and any language.

Different search features

As you can see in the image above, it is possible to search by related Keywords, Autocomplete feature or Questions feature.

Search by Domain

Results by searching the URL of Mangools

Searching by domain name can be interesting to find the keywords where your competitors rank.

You’ll basically see search terms that bring the most of your competitor’s website traffic.

Paid Keywords by Mangools for their PPC Campaign

You can spy on keywords paid by your competitors. We can see that Mangools pays Google to position itself in the first Google results, targeting the keywords “Mangools” and “semrush free account”.

Keyword metrics

Depending on the type of research (by keyword or domain), you’ll see the following metrics:

  • Trend (“Search by Keyword” only) – Trend of the search volume in the last 12 months
  • Pos (“Search by Domain” only) – The highest achieved position of the website in SERP
  • Search – Average monthly search volume (exact match) based on the last 12 months
  • EV (“Search by Domain” only) – Estimated visits per month based on SERP positions, their estimated CTRs and search volumes
  • CPC – Average cost per click estimate of the keyword in PPC advertising (you can change the currency in the tooltip – currency rates are updated once a week)
  • PPC – Level of competition in PPC advertising (min = 0; max = 100)
  • KD – Keyword Difficulty of the keyword-based on the URLs and their Link Profile Strength (LPS) on the 1st Google SERP (min = 0; max = 100)

Keyword Difficulty

The Keyword Difficulty or SEO Difficulty estimates how hard it is to rank on the 1st SERP when optimizing for the keyword. It’s indicated on a scale from 0 to 100.

How Mangools calculate the Keyword Difficulty:

  1. They calculate the overall Link Profile Strength (LPS) of every URL on the 1st Google SERP. It’s based on the widely-used Moz metrics (Domain Authority, Page Authority) and Majestic metrics (Citation Flow, Trust Flow).
  2. Once they have the LPS values, Mangools calculate the Keyword Difficulty (KD) taking into account both high-authority and low-authority URLs in the 1st SERP. It’s because the low-authority ones can outrank the others thanks to their relevance.
How difficult it is to rank
Keyword Difficulty caching

You can get the Keyword Difficulty by clicking on the keyword row. Generally, the data can be cached for up to 30 days.

For keywords that no one clicked on within the 30 days, the score is naturally cached for a longer period of time. These values have decreased opacity (they are washed out).

Keywords without cached Keyword Difficulty

You will find many keywords without any KD value. That means that no one ever clicked on these keywords. They may represent an interesting opportunity for you since none of the KWFinder users decided to analyze them before.

Just click on the magnifier to get the latest KD value.

In KWFinder, you will find exact search volumes. Many of them will differ from the data you’ll see in Google Keyword Planner because Mangools detect clustered search volumes (close variants) whenever it’s possible.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible in all cases since Google clusters the search volumes continuously.

The upper part of the right screen displays 2 trend charts:

  • Monthly Search Volumes – historical search volumes starting from 2015 (depending on the keyword)
  • Interest Over Time – Google Trends chart with data starting from 2004 (depending on the keyword)

SERP metrics

SERP analysis in an inevitable part of keyword research. It will help you to find out whether:

  1. You picked the right keyword in terms of search intent
  2. You can outrank the SERP competitors
Serp metrics kwfinder

The SERP metrics are located in the lower half of the right screen:

  • Google SERP – the 1st page of Google Search results for the selected keyword.
  • DA (Domain Authority) – predicts how well the domain will rank in the SERP compared to others. Scale: 0 – 100 (developed by Moz).
  • PA (Page Authority) – predicts how well the specific page will rank in the SERP compared to others. Scale: 0 – 100 (developed by Moz).
  • CF (Citation Flow) – predicts how influential is the URL based on the number of backlinks. Scale: 0 – 100 (developed by Majestic).
  • TF (Trust Flow) – predicts how influential is the URL based on the quality of backlinks. It indicates that backlinks from trustworthy websites will increase the Trust Flow while backlinks from questionable websites will lower the score. Scale: 0 – 100 (developed by Majestic).
  • Links – the number of external authority-passing links to the URL.
  • FB – the number of Facebook shares for the URL.
  • LPS – it estimates how difficult it is to rank on that particular position. The higher it is, the harder it is to compete with the URL (min = 0; max = 100).
  • EV – estimated visits per month on the SERP position.

For the advanced local Google SERP analysis based on 45+ SEO metrics, visit the other tool SERPChecker.

SERP data caching

Similarly to the Keyword Difficulty, the SERP data can be cached for up to 30 days.

The exact date when the data was fetched is shown above the SERP table.

You can fetch new SERP data to get the most updated search results. It counts as 1 SERP lookup.

Advanced features

Click on the “three dots” menu to:

  • See the URL profile in SiteProfiler
  • Show backlinks of the URL in LinkMiner

Filter results

You can filter the results of KWFinder

Start by eliminating low traffic keywords by setting the minimum search volume and the maximum keyword difficulty your website can beat or select the number of keywords when searching for long tail keywords or pick a combination that suits you best.

Track your ranking with SERPWatcher

SERPWatcher Features

SERPWatcher is a ranking tracking tool that focuses on aggregate data to track overall progress.

SERPWatcher Dashboard

Serpwatcher dashboard

You can see the results of your trackings on the dashboard. It is possible to add an infinite number of trackings and the tracking is generated according to the added keywords. It is therefore possible to have different results in real-time if you don’t track the right keywords or if you didn’t add them.

Ranking tracking

The rankings are updated daily so the tool can show you the following data:

  • Daily desktop/mobile rankings
  • Performance Index
  • Estimated visits
  • Top gainers and losers
  • Keyword position flow and distribution
  • Interactive shared reports
  • Scheduled email reports and alerts

You can track:

  • 10 keywords in the 10-day FREE trial
  • 200 keywords in the Basic plan
  • 700 keywords in the Premium pan
  • 1500 keywords in the Agency plan

You can split the keywords into an unlimited number of domains.

When you track keywords added to both trackings (desktop and mobile), they are counted as 2 keywords. This is caused by fetching 2 different SERPs.

Keyword Rankings

Ciroapp tracking rank

The right part of the Dashboard is dedicated to the aggregate metrics and charts that focus on the overall progress of your rankings.

Performance Index (PI)

performance

The Performance Index is a metric that tracks your ranking performance in Google based on actual positions of your website and search volumes of keywords tracked in SERPWatcher used as weights. It takes into account all position changes in your tracking.

PI is indicated on a scale from 0 to 100. The higher it is, the better is the performance of your rankings.

Estimated visits (EV)

Estimated visits on Ciroapp

The Estimated visits inform you about the potential organic traffic gathered from the tracked keywords. The metric is based on the average CTR (click-through rate) of the current SERP position of a particular keyword.

This metric reflects the changes of rankings on the 1st and 2nd SERP since there’s no real potential of any CTR on lower positions while the Performance Index counts with all positions (up to 100).

Keyword position distribution

Keyword position on results

See how many keywords rank #1, in the top 3, top 10, top 20, or top 100. Hover your mouse over the chart to see the count and percentage of keywords in the categories.

Share Tracking

Mangools developed this feature to let you share more than just a generic rank tracking report.

Sharing a report is a two-click effort. Click on the button “Share tracking” in the top right corner.

It enables everyone with the link to see an interactive report in which they can select the timeframe, play with the filter options or see the keyword details.

Copy the link to the clipboard and share it with your teammates, clients, or everyone else.

LinkMiner is an easy-to-use backlink checker tool that will help you find the backlinks of your competitors so that you can try to replicate them.

The tool is designed to evaluate backlink data by providing different metrics, embedded link previews and other features to filter and save the most interesting links.

Linkminer dashboard

What types of links can you select?

  • All links – based on the Fresh and Historic Indexes by Majestic containing more than 2 trillions crawled URLs
  • New links – based on daily updated backlinks from last 30 days
  • Lost links – deleted backlinks

You can switch between them anytime.

How to write the input URL?

Choose the input according to data you would like to analyze. Here are the most common input types you can use:

  • Root domain – example.com
  • Subdomain – subdomain.example.com
  • Exact URL – https://example.com/blog/blog-post
  • Path URL – https://example.com/blog/*

LinkMiner comes with following metrics for analyzed domain or URL:

  • Citation Flow – a score between 0-100 which helps to measure the link equity or “power” the website or link carries
  • Trust Flow – a score based on quality, on a scale between 0-100 containing many trusted seed sites based on a manual review of the web
  • Referring IPs – the number of referring IPs (usually lower than referring domains because there can be more domains located on a single IP address)
  • Referring domains – the number of referring domains
  • Total backlinks – total number of backlinks based on the Fresh Index

The backlinks table provides all backlink data including metrics and attributes. Right below the “Source URL” are basic characteristics:

  • DoFollow/NoFollow
  • Deleted backlink tag
  • Image tag
  • Language of the referring site

As we mentioned earlier, the data is based on Majestic database. The most critical metrics for link evaluation are Citation Flow (CF) and Trust Flow (TF). You can sort the results by any metric:

  • EL – Number of external links from page
  • FB – Number of Facebook shares
  • AR – Alexa Rank
  • HREF – Backlink HREF path pointing to website
  • Anchor – Anchor text of the backlink (visible only on higher resolutions)
  • LS – The Link Strength

The Link Strength is a new metric developed to evaluate the power of backlink considering various factors such as Citation Flow, Trust Flow, Do/NoFollow attributes, number of referring domains and other metrics.

This metric is all about saving time. Instead of analyzing a bunch of metrics Mangools has created an algorithm that identifies the potential of each backlink.

Website Preview

You can preview where the backlink is

This is one of the main time-saving features of the tool. Live website preview is located in the right part of the dashboard. Just click on one of the backlink rows to load it.

The preview will scroll down to the actual backlink and highlight the anchor text with an orange border.

The right panel includes additional settings and options. You can:

  • open the linking page in the new tab
  • analyze the URL in SiteProfiler
  • switch between the desktop and mobile view
  • close the preview

SiteProfiler, the website analysis tool

Site Profiler Features

SiteProfiler is a website analysis tool bringing all important SEO metrics and website insights on one screen.

Overview section

Siteprofiler overview

The overview section evaluates the domain authority and popularity by using the well-known SEO metrics by Moz, Majestic and the popularity metrics such as Alexa and Facebook.

As you can see in the screenshot, SiteProfiler displays the following metrics:

Domain Authority – a metric developed by Moz that predicts how well the domain will rank in the SERP compared to others. Scale: 0 – 100.

Page Authority – another metric by Moz that predicts how well the specific page will rank in the SERP compared to others. Scale: 0 – 100.

Understand them both as relative metrics mostly based on backlinks.

Citation Flow – predicts how influential is the URL based on the quantity of backlinks. This metric is developed by Majestic. Scale: 0 – 100.

Trust Flow – predicts how influential is the URL based on the quality of backlinks. It’s developed by Majestic and indicates that backlinks from trustworthy websites will increase the Trust Flow while backlinks from questionable websites will lower the score. Scale: 0 – 100.

Alexa Rank – approximates the domain popularity compared to others based on the number of unique visitors and page views. The lower is the number, the more popular is the domain. That’s why the chart is reversed.

Referring IPs – is the number of referring IP addresses based on the Majestic backlink index. This metric is more precise than the number of backlinks, but keep in mind that many domains (websites) can be hosted on the same IP address.

Facebook shares – is the number of Facebook shares of the analyzed domain (URL).

The charts of the “Alexa Rank”, “Referring IPs” and “Facebook shares” display the data from the last 6 months.

This section includes a lot useful of information to identify the backlink profile, its health or spam potential.

The interactive chart represents the trend of the total number of backlinks in the last 4 months with daily data. Move your cursor over the chart area to see the number of backlinks on different days.

Right below is the number of new and deleted backlinks grouped together in another interactive chart. These numbers are also based on the last 4 months and you can see the daily comparison of new vs. deleted backlinks by moving the cursor.

Besides the link type distribution, there are pie charts with the following ratios for deeper insights:

  • Dofollow links ratio (Dofollow vs. Nofollow links)
  • Active links ratio (Active vs. Deleted links)

The number of “Referring domains”, “Referring IPs” and “Referring subnets” with the number of average links per each will give you detailed information of how many backlinks the website really has.

The “Referring subnets” metric is the most precise as there can be many websites hosted on the same IP address.

Top referring domains and anchor texts

The list of the “Top referring domains” comes with the following metrics:

  • CF – Citation Flow
  • TF – Trust Flow
  • Link – Total number of backlinks
  • Alexa Rank

The pie chart shows the Alexa Rank distribution of the referring domains. It’s an indicator of a healthy/unhealthy link profile.

When it comes to the “Anchor texts”, there are the top 100 anchors. Feel free to select from:

  • All anchor types
  • Branded
  • Naked
  • Other

Sort the results by:

  • RD – The number of referring domains
  • Total – The total number of the particular anchor text
  • Share – The percentage share of the particular anchor text

The pie chart gives you a quick overview of the anchor text type distribution.
