    Features comparison

We highlight the main differences between Cloudways and WPOven

    Ease of use

First of all, let’s start with registration.

Cloudways will ask you to prove your identity, you will have to send documents and wait for your registration to be validated, this takes about a day. This can be really annoying, especially if you only want to try their servers. Once validated, you will have to choose the server technology and its location and then wait for the server to be ready (it takes about 10 minutes).

WPoven is much faster, once you have registered, you just have to pay directly and the server installation is done automatically. Half an hour later, your site is ready.

Concerning the interface, the two managed hosting solutions do not offer the classic, messy and ugly CPanel. They have their own server management interface.

WPoven offers an ugly and old solution, on the other hand very easy to use and very efficient.

Cloudways offers a very optimized solution at UI/UX level but can be confusing and you can easily get lost.

    Server setup

WPoven uses only Linode technology for their VPS servers. As for Cloudways, they propose several different technologies, which makes it possible to obtain different setup according to the desired needs. To make the comparison obvious, we will only compare WPoven with Cloudways using Linode technology.

WPOven and Cloudways both use NGINX + Fast CGI + Memcache + Varnish + Redis. So they offer exactly the same configuration.

However, since Cloudways offers several different technologies and also offers Elasticsearch and some other interesting features, we declare Cloudways the winner.

    WordPress setup

In both cases, there will be plugins to install on your WordPress site to take advantage of the benefits of the servers.

Cloudways provides a free “Breeze” Cache plugin and the “Malcare” plugin which is called under another name.

WPOven provides the WPBase-Cache plugin which only allows to add Varnish and Redis, and to activate the whole cache system on the server side. This does not replace a good cache plugin like WPRocket for example.

Moreover, on security level, WPOven points out that their server is ultra secure and that they can remove malware for free.

But in my opinion, this does not prevent Spam and virus injection, so you will have to add a security plugin like Wordfence, Malcare or Ithemes Security.

    Backup

Backups are a paid option at Cloudways but at a very affordable price. For a 10GB backup, it will only cost about 30 cents/month. With several sites, this can quickly reach several tens of euros.

Unlike Cloudways, WPOven includes unlimited backups in their package.

    Malware Removal

WPoven is engaged to secure and clean your website if it becomes infected by a virus, at no extra cost.

However, Cloudways does not offer malware removal as part of its basic pricing package. To get it, you will have to pay $150 per site and per year.

    Customer support

Even though WPOven’s support responds very quickly to tickets, it still takes between 10 minutes and an hour. This is a very decent result!

However, Cloudways offers an almost instant customer support thanks to its live chat system. Answers are often obtained in less than a minute!

    WordPress support

Getting WordPress support can save you a lot of trouble. Imagine if your site is broken, there’s a problem, or you have a question, paying for a WordPress Webmaster could cost you dearly.

WPOven offers WordPress support natively, you can ask them questions, they can fix some problems and more. However don’t ask too much, they won’t make any design or code modifications.

Cloudways offers the same but as an option, for $100/month.

    White label system

We will not be able to compare this feature with Cloudways because they do not offer a white labeling solution.

Nevertheless WPOven proposes it from the $79/month plan. If you are interested in a white label hosting solution, WPoven is the best solution, you can even invoice your customers from the dashboard.

    Pricing comparison

    Cloudways pricing

    WPoven pricing

    Cloudways pricing Linode server

On average, WPOven is 50% more expensive than Cloudways. This is justified by the fact that the paid options that Cloudways offers are included in the price. Finally, it’s not that expensive!

The biggest advantage of Cloudways in terms of price is that it offers several data center systems.

    Pricing estimation made by WPoven

    3 hosted websites

    15 hosted websites with 300k traffic/month

    Cloudways vs Wpoven 3 websites

As you can see, if you add the Cloudways add-ons to the monthly rate of Cloudways, it is very expensive compared to WPOven. But of course they are options, if you don’t need them at all, then Cloudways is cheaper than WPoven. It all depends on what you need.

    Who's the winner?

It is impossible to define a winner because it depends entirely on your needs. If you need WordPress support, simple and efficient use, as well as other premium features, we advise you to take WPOven.

If you need a different technology than Linode or if you don’t need WordPress support and virus removal, then choose Cloudways.
